1. What is your favorite travel destination?
New York City! I go to NY at least 3-4 times a year, and it always has something new to offer. Each season has its own feel, various festivities, and a unique energy in the air. I love the vibe and energy the city creates, and absorbing that energy is soul food for me. I love the people, the food, the fashion, and the inspiration it provides for many aspects of my life!
2. What are your favorite beauty products for a flight?
Lathering my Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair eye cream ALL OVER MY FACE before a flight. Flights always make my skin look tired and dehydrated. I've realized that this eye gel helps to lock in moisture during the flight to make sure my skin is dewy and glowing for when I land.
3. When do you feel the most comfortable in your skin?
I feel the most comfortable in my skin when I am dancing. This is when I feel like I'm using every inch of my body to tell a story and connect with those around me. I also feel the most comfortable in my skin when I know I'm taking steps to improve myself in any aspect of my life. Personal development is very important to me, and knowing that I am constantly growing and learning is a great way to boost my confidence.
4. Do you have a favorite travel photo that brings back a memory?
I have many personal favorites from my feed, and even more from influential people that I follow. If I had to choose one from my feed as my favorite, it would be this picture from Koh Phi Phi beach in Thailand. This picture takes me back to a time where I felt the most care-free. The sun was shining on my back, the water was the perfect temperature on my toes, and the ocean breeze was playing with my hair. This is what my happy place looks like, not just because of its natural beauty, but because of how I felt when I was there. Looking at this picture makes me feel free, loved, inspired, and calm. It makes me get in touch with my energy, and remember that the world has so much to offer, and that I have so much to give back.
5. Do you have any inspiring women that you view as role models or go to for advice?
I feel like as much as I draw inspiration from others, I also look to myself when I'm in need of guidance. I believe that we can be everything we need ourselves to be, and that there are so many hidden treasures in our mind and soul that we can activate just by searching for them. So at times when I feel lost, I look for all the positivity within. I look for the Tejal who shares joy with everyone around her, who has so much love to give, who is resourceful and driven, and remember all of the times I have risen from adversity. I also think that we draw energy from those whom we surround ourselves with. I am lucky to have a strong circle of female friends who never fail to surprise me with their strength and perseverance.
